Born in western Texas, raised in Oklahoma City, and educated in Kansas, RYAN HERNANDEZ, tenor, calls Manhattan, Kansas home. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Kansas State University in 2023 and is completing a Master of Science in Special Education, Counseling, and Student Affairs from the same institution.
He currently serves as director of the Chancel Choir at First Christian Church in Manhattan and as director of the Manhattan Interfaith Choir. He also serves as the house manager and internship recruiter for the Kansas City Chorale, a position he has maintained since the GRAMMY® Award winning ensemble's 2021 concert season.
He has appeared as a chorister with the Blue Earth Camerata and Kansas City Symphony Chorus in addition to being an occasional soloist. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, baking, playing disc golf, and spending time with friends and his cat, Wasabi. He is overjoyed to serve as a leader with the Sonus Chamber Choir and sing under the baton of Kolby Van Camp once again.
